Thursday : The Good.....and the sad....

appy Thursday! Less than four days until Halloween. I love living in a city where trick or treating is still done on 31 October and not moving it to the weekend just because it seems more convenient. Well, enough about that. On with the comics.....

The Good

Pearls Before Swine
Pearls Before Swine

Like a comfy sweatshirt on a cool, fall day, Pearls Before Swine rarely disappoints. This one is great, start to finish. I'm hoping the pillow from panels 1 and 2 isn't stuffed in the toilet.

Flying McCoys

The Flying McCoys

Somewhere, Walt is turning over in his grave and/or his cryogenically frozen head is sobbing. However, good news for us, is that we get this comic panel. Love the look on Tramp's face.

The Sad

Pluggers
Picking on Pluggers is just to easy so I usually don't even bother. However, something about this panel really bugs me. What entry, exactly, is the Plugger reading in the "A" volume of World Book where he sees cars from the 50's? My guess would be Automobile but, if you look at the book, he is about half way through A and Automobile would be further towards the end. Or, maybe this is a special Plugger "A" volume where the Automobile entry takes up half the book. Or maybe he just randomly opened up the book and just started daydreaming about cars. Those whacky Pluggers!

Broom Hilda

Broom Hilda

The answer, by looking at the word balloons, would be either (a) her right shoe or (b) her hat.

And that's all for today. Happy Halloween, everyone!

Beach Fun

Hello readers, time for some Wednesday comics review!

F Minus
Thank you purple-suited beach lady for saving your fellow sunbathers from the ghastly sight of your husband's man-parts. Though the beach does look pretty empty, I suppose you could have let the old man have some fun in his declining years.

The Lockhorns
Leroy is not one to talk. His balanced diet probably consists of a gallon of stout and a gallon of lager.

The Piranha Club
This comic illustrates the perils of colorizing an originally black and white strip. I think the woman's lips were supposed to be a deep red, but colorist can't color over black ink. Either that, or she's really a goateed man with a rather unfortunate glandular condition.

Zits
Jeremy's friend, Hector, is still sporting that awful makeover. I know it is probably an attempt by the cartoonists to make him look less like Jeremy's dad in a wig, but now he just resembles a fat Gene Simmons (not a good look).

The Duplex
Why has Fang made friends with a pumpkin? I know he's a dog, but isn't he usually portrayed as the brains of his side of the duplex? This seems out of character.

A new day and new comics

Hello Cara here and I'm back for Friday updates!
This is now my new day so keep an eye you Friday evenings for my posts.
I have a lot of comics I found to make up for lack of posts so lets jump right in.

Wizard of ID:

Um pardon me but isn't it Robin Hood? Maybe I'm wrong but I think the name is free use so there's really no reason to change the name unless it was an accident. And if it was an accident that just makes Parker's lack of caring all the more evident.

Neurotica:

Maybe this is because its my first time running into this strip but why is that old man there and why is he so excited to see that girl ready to eat ice cream? ...On second thought maybe I dont want to know.

Momma:

Didn't Momma just do this joke like last week except her son was by himself and with a different sign. Thats lazy even for this strip.

Heart Of the City:
